Issue #190 new

distribute ignores script_dir parameter in config file

Omnifarious
created an issue

My ~/.pydistutils.cfg file:

[easy_install]

install_dir=/Users/me/.local/lib/python2.7/site-packages

script_dir=/Users/me/.local/bin-py2.7

Even with this config file, distribute installed binaries in ~/.local/bin.

    Even specifying the -s option to easy_install fails to cause the binary to be installed in the right place. I liked setuptools better, it at least worked, and I didn't have to read about how much something else was horrible every 10 seconds while wading through the documentation.

    That works well for me with 2.7

    $ sudo easy_install-2.7 -s /tmp/ docutils

    Best match: docutils 0.7

    Can you give me a full example of when it fails, with the exact version of Python ?

    Thanks

    I don't understand the second part of this sentence. Can you explain it ? thx
