Binary distributions for 32-bit vs 64-bit

I've not had a chance to use a 64-bit PC, so I don't know what is possible regarding installing binary Python packages. If you have a 64-bit PC and 64-bit OS, what are the requirements/possibilities for running 32- vs 64-bit Python, 32- vs 64-bit Python packages, etc?

So then, if I want to provide Windows binary installation files for my Python package, what do I need to do? If I provide only 32-bit installation files, is that any good for people running 64-bit PCs? Do I need to buy/borrow a 64-bit PC or beg someone to build installation files for me? Can I cross-compile and what is the procedure for that?
