Macro in Confluence
It would be absolutely awesome to have a Time Reports macro in Confluence.
That would allow including its gadgets and reports on a Confluence page.
It would enable to create a page for a customized report and take advantage of the export to PDF functionality.

reporter Hi Andriy,
I've just voted for it, but I think that adding the XML link won't be enough for exporting to PDF.
Will elaborate on it.
Thanks!

reporter Hi Andriy,
I've recorded a video for elaborating on this suggestion:
Hope you find it interesting :)
Regards!

Hi Ignacio,
Right, it will not be exported to PDF either. Thank you for the video, it was interesting :)
-
reporter I'm thinking of a potentially alternative solution for getting the info into the exported PDF:
Creating a new JQL function sumHours(startDate, endDate) that updates a custom field with the sum of hours logged between the start and end dates.
Would that be doable?
-
JQL function would not help in this case, it is designed to filter issues.
It would need something like Custom Column, similarly to Custom Fields, but specifically for search results, so that displayed value is calculated per issue. I do have project like this, but it's built similarly, so will not work in Confluence, or when will work, will not be exportable to PDF, just for your interest, please see https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/lambda-plugin
-
reporter I will look at that plugin tomorrow :)
By the way, do you think you could develop a macro like the ones that are exportable to PDF?
-
reporter The Expression Columns for JIRA addon looks very promising.
Does the Cost custom column shown there have the capability of filtering the worklogs for a time period?
I guess it's not the case, because JQL returns just complete issues, and not worklogs...
-
reporter Can a macro like this one be created, but with Time Reports results? (this one is exportable to PDF)
-
Hi Ignacio,
Regarding Lambda Plugin, the Cost Column is just an example, the column to sum up worklogs for time period would need to be added (developed), but that's the point of the plugin, it's highly extensible.
Regarding Confluence Macro, your idea is clear, but, sorry, I don't think I can do it yet.
Thank you.

ACJIRA-846 says:
We are not planning to develop built in support for displaying remote JIRA dashboard items on Confluence pages.

reporter Thank you for trying! :)

Have got a plan for this, as a compliment to upcoming Timesheet Reports and Gadgets for JIRA Cloud, that will use own backend to generate reports, so that data can be shared by both JIRA and Confluence plugin, thus displayed in Confluence too.
