Timesheet Report regional time issue in 2.4 and 2.6.3 versions

Timesheet issue

Hi,

When our users in German region use the timesheet reports they face a strange issue.If the work logged is like 1.5 h then in the generated excel this is reported as 01.May. We tested this on v2.4 and 2.6.3 and found the issue to exist. The testing revealed that if "Region" setting was selected as UK then this issue wasnt noticed.However if it was specified as "Germany" then this issue was noticed.

Hi Sandeep,

This is problem with excel because of hours separator. Apparently in Germany you use coma (,) for decimal part, but in UK Period (.), that's also used as day.month separator, so Excel gets confused.

I can't anything with it, but you can use http://www.jiratimesheet.com/#/wiki/Plugin_Configuration/Decimal_separator_for_hours to workaround this.

Hi Sandeep,

Please see Administration - Add Ons - Timesheet Configuration and there Decimal Separator option. But this is available from version 2.6.3 only.

Before 2.6.3 you can can set corresponding property in jira-config.properties and restart JIRA, e.g.:

jira.timesheet.plugin.decimalSeparator = ,

Hi Andriy,

I gave the symbol ,(comma) in the decimal seperator.But that ended up in an error after i saved this change. I am looking into the issue.However could you please confirm if i could use just comma in the decimal seperator field?

Hm, did you install patched version, does the symptom described in the wiki page correspond to your problem? I.e. timeout is on report configuration page. Do you still have any drop down lists in configuration page?

I did test your patched version but then i get a new error.I am not sure if my previously reported issue here has got completely fixed.I am testing it further.I will update you with a detailed comment ASAP.
