Gadget: Refreshing page erases settings

On refreshing a dashboard (F5), the gadget's settings are resetted, changing from month view without details to detailed weekly view for current week.

This doesn't seem to be the desired behaviour, specially for a gadget saved on a dashboard.

I have doubts about cookies being the correct approach for saving gadget settings.

It worked using cookies before too. Are there any errors in browser console in this case?
