[TIME-88] Timesheet report - excel export does not manage dates in a proper way

Issue #88 resolved
Andriy Zhdanov created an issue

By using Firefox 3.6.3:

  • The file is not recognized as excel file.
  • The file name is "ConfigureReport!excelView.jspa" so no xls extension.

By using Firefox 3.6.3 or Chrome 4.1.249 or IE 8.0.6

  • Dates or time are not formatted properly. I have tried with different pCs and configurations.

Configuration 1:

  • Jira 3.13.5 Enterprise - Language English
  • Windows XP Italian SP2 or Windows 7
  • Regional settings Italian
  • Excel 2003 Italian with international settings as the system settings

Effects
The export is completely wrong, the time spent is not recognized as a number. The application makes confusion considering numbers with comma and dot that in Italian are opposit to English settings

Configuration 2:

  • Windows XP Italian SP2 or Windows 7
  • Regional settings English(USA)
  • Excel 2003 Italian with international settings as the system settings

Effects
The export is partially wrong, for many rows the time spent is not recognized as a number and the date is not recognized as a date. The application makes confusion considering numbers with comma and dot that in Italian are opposit to English settings

I have attached also screenshot of excel files because it could be that as soon as you open the file according your settings the behaviour changes

I guess this is solved by issue #123 "[TIME-123] Modifiable decimal separator for hours and Excel export"
