Ability to use mac-address

Hi,

Would it be possible to add a device by using the mac-address instead of only the ip-address? My router is rather crippled and I can only assign 20 dhcp reservations... But the router does support presence detection by using the mac, so I'm hoping this is something that would be possible on Homey also?

    I have not found a way yet to do detection based on Layer 2 stuff. If it helps: you may assign the smartphones a static IP on the device itself. Just don't have duplicate static IP's.

    DHCP reservations prohibit duplicate IP, which static does not (cause there is no central management).

    I'm putting this issue on hold, in case i ever find away.
