Issue #31 new

%1 is not a valid Win32 Application

created an issue

When I download server2go and run it without making any changes on a WinXP machine, the splash screen displays and then I get this error:

%1 is not a valid Win32 Application

When I click okay the error disappears and the splash just stays up and won't close unless I kill it with the task manager.

When I run the default package on my Windows 7 machine it works just fine. I also have tried the default package on another WinXP machine and it works correctly there as well.

Workaround is to launch "Server2Go.exe" with short (8.3) path and filename.

I wrote a short VBScript that does this:

    ' Start Server2Go with a shortened filename
' (This is a workaround for the "%1 is not a valid Win32 Application" error message.)
    ' Written by Tero Niemi,
' *** Save this file as "Start.vbs" in the same folder as "Server2Go.exe" ***
Const program = "Server2Go.exe" ' program to start
    Set filesystem = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    If filesystem.FileExists(program) Then
    	Set file = filesystem.GetFile(program)
    	Set shell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    End If
    ' eof

Save this file as "Start.vbs" in the same directory as "Server2Go.exe". Use it to launch the server.
