Shutter driver control

Issue #29 resolved
Ron Kramer created an issue

Just got the beta working. Instantly I noticed I clicked OPEN to test - it opened a bit I wanted to click “STOP” then “Close” there is no stop and close would not highlight (as an option) until it was open.

I then clicked CLOSE and while closing there was of course no STOP and open did not allow clicking until it was closed.

    More to add to this.
In SGP - there is open, stop and close. clicking open, then STOP. Then open will not continue to opion. Clicking open, STOP close will close. However using a mix of controls it works,
MEANING - clicking open, STOP in SGP - (open again will not work) but clicking open int he driver window still continue opening..

another odd result… as I type this I’m testing. I opened in SGP - STOPPED in SGP. I click open shutter again and ROTATOR? homes… then goes back and aligns with scope.

Now shutter is still half open. Going to click open in ASCOM server… it opens. (there is no stop)
So I click STOP in SGP (it stops). it’s 3/4 open.
I’m going to click open in SGP.
again open shutter in SGP is homing rotation. Stops - hesitates a bit then slews back to align with scope.
Clicking close shutter in SGP - “homed” rotator and is now closing) SGP has some options for close/open at home (I’ll look into t hose options as they may be set. (okay shutter did close at home, then rotated back to align with scope.

No options should cause that. Maybe when the driver is done, I can ask SGP guys to review their code.

ignore the rotation to home on open/close (that is okay if unchecked)

Clicking open - the STOP - then open in the driver it will continue to open. Then STOP in SGP and open again in driver opens again. (all good) except STOP is missing from driver display)

Close in SGP it does - and STOP it does.
drivers says (open) it is - 1/2 way so good.
Because I clicked STOP in SGP - both open and close are allowed in the driver display. (good) if that worked with a STOP in the driver display (please add one)
With shutter 1/2 open - clicking OPEN STOP in SGP then OPEN does not continue. (though driver thinks it is).
Clicking open stop close in SGP worked.
close STOP close in SGP (works).
From there 3/4 open - clicking open now (no movement). driver says open but shows 1/4 open.
open in driver now does open.

driver open (SGP stop) driver open (and or close work)
SGP open (SGP STOP) SGP open does not work. (cilcking driver open does)

So in a nutshell as you’re probably confused. If the driver had a stop button. It should open stop, open stop close stop close stop just fine. (it does when using STOP in SGP)

    When using only SGP.
close stop closed in SGP only works

Close stop open does not open. So it would seem that I would have to close it all the way in SGP to re-open it. UNLESS I click open in the ascom driver (server) screen) jumping back and forth from SGP to driver controls is a but cumbersome.

SGP did close all the way then WOULD open
once stopped would not open the rest of the way and must be closed to open. (I could slick driver/server open) again cumbersome.

I WILL SAY other than a few flukes - ITS AWESOME AND REALLY CLOSE better than alpha and the rotator switch now rocks left rotation and right). So lots of bugs squashed so far. Slit does track with scope now. (when it ran on before).

    home buttons works.

A couple of you guys try and confirm - open stop, open?
    close stop open etc.

The open and close buttons are there as a convenience and not really meant to be the primary controls (use your app for that). However, as they are there, I think you are right about needing a stop button and I will add that for final release.

I think I need to get sgp to try to reproduce your issue there. Opening a partially open shutter should work. I’m afraid this will not happen for a week or so, so please bear with me.
