Any way to know if dome is on the charging ports? (via ASCOM server?

Issue #32 wontfix
Ron Kramer created an issue

I see the Ascom server shows “home” and rotator position. (349) etc. It also says 1 2 3 4 <---- what are those?

Then HOME appears to flash? meaning what?

Shutter says 000% CLOSED 9great) also says online and 12.83V.
When open of course the battery is disconnected at the voltage drops. I was wondering if there is a way to maybe show… 1. Charging? or at least when contact is made to the charging posts? each night I have to zoom and pan into the charger to see if it’s connected from my ip camera. (sounds easy but it’s not). Would there be a way to show
on the AScom server driver “CHARGING” (flashing or otherwise) to let us know if it is indeed aligned with the charging port?

During use voltage drops. A way to declare it’s on thet charging port would be is Voltage increased when shutter closed? Just wishing so I could HOME and see at a glance that it’s closed and making contact.

I think the cadence used is what I call a “wink” (on most of the time but occasionally winks out). The purpose of that cadence is for some state that is not permanent but could persist for an extended time that you don’t want the user to forget about; the occasional wink is an attractor that draws the eye. A great example of this in use would be a telephone call that has been placed on hold. Most of the cadences I built into the annunciator control are based on some sort of telephony convention just because that’s my professional history. You can probably make a case that the wink isn’t needed here and that the icon should just light up and remain steady rather than winking. Would that be preferable?

That’s a hangover from old code. They don’t do anything and I can remove them if they are annoying, but currently they are sort of helping with the formatting of the Flow Panel that contains them.

As things stand right now, there’s no way to do that and it would be too big a change for the initial release. Charging indication is maybe something that could be looked at for a subsequent release, though. If you would care to open an issue just for that, of type Proposal or Enhancement, then I'll talk it over with Babak at the appropriate time. If this is a big deal for you, then I’d suggest that you make your needs known to Babak, as he is the final decision maker on what gets implemented and I can only implement what he agrees to.

Meanwhile, positioning should be very repeatable and as long as you’ve set your Park position, then the shutter should make contact every time. If it is not doing so, then for the time being I think you will have to find a mechanical solution to that.
