Process Group Views from Monit

Issue #232 closed
Harivardhan Pyaram created an issue

As we are able to group certain services in monit. Can we somehow display the services as groups instead of the whole list at one go in MMonit ? Also is there an option where we can create nested groups?

Service Groups does exists and can be used in M/Monit under events and when specifying alerts.

However I assume you are thinking about the host details view 'mmonit.host/status/hosts/detail?id=2' and maybe the uptime view 'mmonit.host/reports/uptime/host/1' ? There, the notation of Service Groups is not available. What did you have in mind? the ability to fold services into group so the list is not so long?

BTW, I'm closing this issue here and have moved it to our internal JIRA. This issue list is for Monit primarily. If you want to register other issues with M/Monit, please use our JIRA collector instead. But please reply to the question above here.

Nested Host Groups is not supported in M/Monit.

I am actually talking about the host details view. I have a group which has a process and a program in it. Since the program consists of a deepcheck script testing the process itself, I was wondering if there is a possibility that I could show the group status rather than a process and a program status.

OK, thanks. This is not possible now, but I've updated the JIRA case for this. I'm not sure how easy it will be to implement, we'll have to investigate, but I see how this can be useful. Unfortunately, I cannot promise anything. BTW, This could also be useful for host groups to show the aggregated status of a group.
