Is there IPv6 support for this project? I can't seem to setup checks for addresses or AAAA records.

IPv6 is not supported at the moment. It is on the roadmap.

The IPv6 support was implemented and will be part of next Monit release (5.12).

The implementation is limited to testing TCP/UDP services, ping, mail server and M/Monit => it is possible to fully test IPv6 sites and send alerts using IPv6 services.

Limitation: Monit's own HTTP interface still supports IPv4 only - we'll fix with the refactoring of the network code.
