Name parsing doesn't allow slashes anymore (regression?)

Issue #615 on hold
Francesco Belladonna created an issue

Hello, we have two servers with monit installed, one monit 5.6 and the other monit 5.16.

in monit 5.6, configuration with check process "default/delayed_job" works properly. sudo monit start "default/delayed_job" works fine too.

In 5.16, check process "default/delayed_job" and running sudo monit start "default/delayed_job" it will results in There is no service with name "default"

Is this a regression or something wanted to make easier config parsing?

    Hello Francesco,

the "/" character in the service name is not supported - there was partial support in one Monit release, which was removed as the implementation was not complete.

We may add support for slash in the future.

    Hello @tildeslash

No problem, I just needed to know the behavior since I faced the difference. Seems fine, we don't really need support for it so don't consider it a support request, it was just unexpected.

    Thanks!
