Existence test syntax error on 'exist', centos/redhat running monit 5.14

After installing monit 5.14 on redhat 7.4 (maipo) and running existence example from documentation,

check file x with path /some/path/x if exist then alert

I get a Syntax Error: 'exist'

There doesnt seem to be a newer rpm available

Please upgrade monit - the "if exist" statement was added in Monit 5.21.0
