Monit does not alert on status for 'check program' if run in batch mode?

Issue #782 new
Former user created an issue

It looks like Monit does not alert on a failing exit value, if it runs in batch mode?

Verbose mode reports the check as 'if exit value != 0 then alert', but no alert is being sent, no failure is being logged, all that shows is that Monit has started the program.

If the same test is copied into the 'live' daemon config, the alert works just fine. Configuration for mail is the same in both cases, and other tests, such as HTTPS certificate validity checks, work without problems in terms of alerting.

This has been tested with both the Debian package (5.20.0) as well as the most recent build downloaded from the website.
