[Question] There is a way to check a host throught a interface I.e eth0 or etc.. ?

Hi, im trying to do a failover plan with monit btw my idea is to ping my office and if the ip is not replying it just change the subdomain on cloudflare btw i’m wondering if there is a way to force the check over a eth0 interface instead of eth1 ?

Or can dev tell me wish interface is used by default for Ping / ICMP request when checking ?

Yes, it is possible to set the source IP address, so the ping will then go via related interface. See the manual: https://mmonit.com/monit/documentation/monit.html#NETWORK-PING-TEST

However, if the eth0 uses dynamic DHCP address, it may change => in such case it would be good to extend the monit implementation with source interface option.
