I believe this helmet has a def strength of 50 and a Leadership strength of 10.
Will have to check the code to be sure though.

As they said you can easily check it by you LD and HP stats

Still, it looks kind of confusing indeed..
Maybe it's an idea to set the strength at 50 and just put in the description that this item has a bonus of 10 leadership

Easiest might be to change the type in "other" list from helmet to leader.

That's not how it should be.
To master the skills of creating a good hero you have to learn how the items work. There is a very good schedule you can read in "Reference Guide" and then the hero weapons. It will give you all the information you need.
