"ERROR: Root volume is not formatted"

Followed instructions yet when running scripts I receive the error message "ERROR: Root volume is not formatted; format first or fill in "root_format". I have verified that there is a partition labeled root and it has been formatted. I have also entered in "root_format='1'" in the .properties file. I have tried without formatting the root partition as well. This happens on new installs.

Thanks for your feedback. Just a few more questions to better diagnose the problem:

1. IIUC, you first say that you can get this error message as a false positive. I.e., you get the message despite the facts that

1.1. you have set "root_format='1'" in your .properties

1.2. the root partition is made and formatted.

Correct?

2. You then say 'I have tried without formatting the root partition as well.' What are you doing to produce that case, and what is the result?
