get this functionality adopted by LMDE installer(s)

The Debian installer currently supports encryption and resizing, but the LMDE installers currently (as of early 2015) do not support either. Since the LMDE team presumably interacts with the Debian install code when writing the LMDE installers, this functionality should (IMHO) be maintained there.
