Start menu item always visible
In the new navigation bar we have by default a "Start" button on top of the "Transition" button. This command does not make sense if a run is started and we should simply remove it, so all transitions are done via the new transition page.

The "start" page need to be replaced with an html popup on the status page, there is no need for a separate page anymore. Ditto for the non-existant "stop" page. K.O.

I prefer to have /experiment/menu to always contain entries for all possible pages. Default values for the less interesting pages ("start" and "example") are now set to "n" and they are hidden from the web page. (The "example" page is also linked from the "help" page). K.O.

Agree. I find that having the start button is both confusing and unnecessary now that we have transitions page.
At a minimum I would make the default value for
/Experiment/Menu/Start
to be 'n' for a newly created ODB. People can enable if they want, but for most users I think it is confusing.
