status page does not show "starting run..."

when starting a run, the status page no longer shows "starting run...", it goes from "stopped" to "running" directly. The old behaviour was to show "starting run", "stopping run", etc when a transition is in progress, now we should also offer the button for "cancel transition". K.O.

I put back "Starting run"/"Stopping run" etc. When a transition is in progress, no button is shown now. If people want to abort a transition, they should do it now from the "Transition" page which gives much more information. Actually I'm tempted to remove the start/stop button completely from the status page and force people to go always through the transition page to start/stop a run.
