problems with ROOT on Ubuntu 16.10

rootana would not build on Ubuntu 16.10 with any of the ROOT binary kits available from root.cern.ch - they only have binary kits for Ubuntu 14 and GCC 4 - while Ubuntu 16.10 comes with GCC 6.2.0. There are warning messages when building dictionaries and linking errors at the very end. I do confirm that rootana does build against ROOT 6.08/02 built from sources. K.O.
