Issue #2413 closed

Tortoisehg-2.7.0-hg-2.4.2+-x64 won't install on win7 64bit

I get an error saying that the file was not found. Error code 2755. Of course since this is Microsoft there is no indication of what file was not found.

I cannot find a workaround for this.

I've installed that package on a dozen different x86_64 Win7 machines so I think the package is ok.

Sometimes this is MS's way to tell you to finish applying your software updates and reboot.

A re-download may help; so potentially could trying the 2.7.0-hg-2.5 package

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for the reply.

I installed the same package on my win7 x64 laptop with no problem.
It's only on my desktop machine that the problem exists. And there are no pending updates. And I did try rebooting. It's just that something is missing from that machine and the error message won't tell me what it is that's missing. Are there any installation logs that might give me a clue?

    Hi Steve,

Sorry to bother you with this. But I can't find a solution in the forums.

I am trying to do a visual diff by right clicking on a file that I have modified. This should give me a diff of the file with the version in the local repository. I get this...

It says its a tool launch failure, but won't say what tool. kdiff3 at least runs if I launch it manually from the command line.

    Any ideas?
