Issue #3308 open

Green activity bar

Please make a different workaround for hiding the green activity bar, it is very annoying.

the suggested workaround is not convenient, pressing on the screen causing selecting other items.

you can fix this by making whole area of the green activity bar press-able (rather than pointing only on the 'x' button on it AND you can make it hide after some timeout (like messages in WAZE)

of course with setting like timeout length and if should hide also red (failures) activity bars.

Thanks

Possible, but it needs several dirty hacks in order to coexist with text selection and hyperlink.

Do you mean the timeout after mouse click? (and what is WAZE?)

This is related to Issue #2113, where the original placement of the green notification area would move the UI and be jarring. The fix was to hover it, but that now covers the scroll bar etc.

How about removing that green status bar entirely (or have an option to do such if some folks really like it - I didn't see an option to disable it in Thg 2.9.1)? The bottom status bar gives tab-specific messages, so the green bar is arguably redundant (though more obvious for new users).

I want to be able to disable it. I run with the log pane open at the bottom to watch the progress of the transmit/receive. I don't need that green notification area covering up the list of stuff I want to see.

infobar: clear status message with slight delay if command finished (refs #3308)

INFO-level message is harmless, so it won't hurt if the message disappear automatically. With 2sec delay, it can at least tell that the command is finished, I think.
