Issue #2318 wontfix

tortoisehg-2.6.0-hg-2.4-x86.msi can't installed on windows 2008r2 64bit platform

Anonymous created an issue

when I install the tortoisehg-2.6.0-hg-2.4-x86.msi on a windows 2008r2 64bit machine, the installer pops up a dialog which says "the x86 installer may not be used on a x64 platform" and then I have to click finish button to exit the installation process. Nothing installed at all.

I think 32bit TGH could be installed even on a 64bit machine. I know there is a 64bit msi installer available, but the reason is because the 32bit verison has the most compatible with any extensions. When using a 64bit TGH, more or less you will encounter by compatibility issues. What do you think?

If I understand it, the main application works but 32bit shell extension cannot be used on 64bit OS.

Did you try? Not many extensions depend on binary code.
