Issue #65 resolved

MQ - force pop/push of patches

Mike Wilkes
created an issue

In the latest versions of stable THG, an option was added to force a push/pop of a patch in MQ.

I don't see that feature in the new version.

If you say it's too dangerous, therefore you haven't made it available, I'll fully understand, but I use it all the time in my workflow, so I'll have to revert to the CLI for that.

It will make it in somehow, it's just not clear right now where the best place is for it. The good news is you can run mercurial commands by typing them into the Workbench's log widget. You don't need to open a terminal (though that is also easy, CTRL+SHIFT+T)

I didn't realize the log was also a command window. I'm more and more impressed every day with what has been accomplished with this release. Enough so that I'm using it exclusively now.

I can certainly understand the 'where do I put this'. It's very dangerous (I've burned myself a time or two), so you don't want to make it too easy, but it's still nice to have.

Now that I know I can type in the command window, that's good enough for me.

If the push/pop fails, the Output log appears if it isn't visible. Perhaps it's enough to detect the failure because of local changes, and add some additional text to the hg result to indicate that the log window is a command window, and if you REALLY want to force the push, you can type the command in?

My thinking being that only advanced users would/should be using this, so they're likely comfortable with the hg commands.
