Reproducible steps:

  1. TortoiseHG -> Synchronie
  2. Click the default path in the left side

    Sorry, I just realized the string in question was already in local encoding.

    Pushed 509e5236103a to resolve this particular problem. Let me you if you spot any more in the sync tool. I suspect there's most unicode badness lurking in there.
