Uploading images on a mac

Is there any way to access my photo collection on a mac like I do on the iPhone? Right now I have to go to iPhoto, save the images on my desktop and then link to those from the webpage.

I was able to drag and drop pictures directly from iPhoto using my mac. Otherwise, this is not a SmartPost issue but an operating system/browser issue.
