Unable to select correct SLA(s) when configuring it in SLA Stacket Bar gadget

Issue #154 resolved
Jóhann B. Guðmundsson created an issue

When creating the new gadget sla descriptions that bare the same name are not distinguishable from each other in the selection field for SLA(s) ( Select SLA(s) to see working duration )

You need to probably implement this either by associating sla with their sla configuration <sla-description>-<sla-configuration> and or only offer sla configuration(s) to choose from so people can choose the correct sla description

As you can see, I still cant tell which SLA Resolution field belongs to which sla configuration/workflow.

In our case the sla description field is more or less always called Sla Resolution so we cannot deviate one SLA Resolution from another when selecting it in the gadget.

You need to have users to select first the workflow then select which sla descriptions they want to use from that workflow the want to use and probably show the description, priority and sla value not description, sla start, sla end status-es

Plus one cannot use just an filter which rules out the use case where you want to create/use an TTS - SLA Indicator and then create a filter that is "cf[Custom Field ID] is not empty" and just use that. ( or simply chose to use existing indicator from the gadget itself instead of filter and SLA )

    Hi Johann,

Sorry that I could not be able to deal with this because I was assuming that we can not do whatever we want for the GUI.
Atlassian (Google) Gadget development have some restrictions.
So I can not change UI to have cascading drop down in order to make you select workflow first and then the SLAs.
In Atlassian gadget documentation it says

    Disadvantages of this Configuration Method
It is inflexible. You are limited to a small number of data types, have no control over the UI, and the only validation you can do is to set fields as required or optional.
The user preferences are static. There is no way to change the number or type of configuration settings programatically.

So, I'm stuck at this point. Adding workflow names to the items in autocomplete textbox is the only choice I can do, however it stores quite plenty of info and adding workflow name will make it such a paragraph.
    Any idea?

    Hi Johann

It has been a long time but we have an update for this issue. By TTS 6.29.0 SLAs in SLA selection dialog will be grouped by their workflows. Here is an example screenshot:

We used AUIs new Select2 which gave us more control over elements of dropdown. I hope that this will helpful to you.
