Having a `code block` as link is now displayed somehow broken

For example, this markdown somehow displays broken:

[`REFCODES.ORG`](http://www.refcodes.org)

... results in:

"The REFCODES.ORG codes represent a group of artifacts consolidating parts of my work in the past years. Several topics are covered which I consider useful for you, programmers, developers and software engineers."

The link itself is outputted, append with "> and append with the actual link's text. This seems to be a new behaviour as before I never noticed this kind of rendering... Expected behaviour is that the text "REFCODES.ORG" is a link.
