Support for literal '@something' (at-sign followed by text , no user-mention)

Is it supported to type a literal @ directly followed by text (e.g. '@ return' without space) without mentioning a user ?

If so, how could this be done, I didn't find it in https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/mark-up-comments-issues-and-commit-messages-321859781.html .

Could the documentation be updated on this ?
