Ubuntu 16.04 (Mint 18) clevo-xsm-wmi UI produces no results

Issue #13 resolved

Thanks for taking on this project.

I just finished building and installing the module and the UI app with no problems, according to your instructions. I did change the line with DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "P7xxDM(-G)") to reflect my model (Eurocom X7E2, which is P770DM3 - I used the Clevo model number).

When I launch 'sudo clevo-xsm-wmi' none of my changes get applied. No errors are reported in the Terminal.

'dmesg | grep clevo' shows:

[ 4.980913] clevo_xsm_wmi: module verification failed: signature and/or required key missing - tainting kernel [ 4.984026] input: Clevo Airplane-Mode Hotkey as /devices/platform/clevo_xsm_wmi/input/input16 [ 4.984142] clevo_xsm_wmi: Polling thread started (PID: 1201), polling at 5 Hz

I installed it with the Ubuntu signing workaround you posted, but still this error.

Thoughts?

Actually, I just fixed this. Changed the line to X7E2 and the .ident to Sky X7E2 and it works. Got it to save state and bring it back up after boot, too. No further issues.
