Doesn't reload state on boot

I installed the version from the AUR. It's been working fine but I noticed that it fails to reload the state it was in last when I boot the computer. It's a clevo P670RP6.

I think it's an unrelated problem but when I run sudo clevo-xsm-wmi all of the controls work except for the color mode settings at the top. The only setting that has any effect is custom. If I use anything light flash or breath etc. the keyboard doesn't actually display any of those color patterns. It continues to show my custom color selection.
