Create Bootable Volume with 10.11 installer lacks --applicationpath switch

Issue #377 new
Dan Kuehling created an issue

When creating bootable media based on a 10.11.x installer .app, the command generated lacks the “--applicationpath” switch that createinstallmedia requires under 10.11.

Pay attention, if you redownloaded a new 10.11 installer. It’s a dmg which contains an Install-pkg. This is NOT the macOS installer! You have to install THIS installer first, which will create the REAL macOS installer in your Applications folder.

Please check, and close this ticket, if solved.

I am paying attention, and I am working with the full real installer, which has nothing at all to do with the nature of the issue I’m describing. Under older OS versions including 10.11, the createinstallmedia tool requires an additional --applicationpath switch, which MDS does not add to the command generated by the Create Bootable Volume tool. If I add the switch and the proper path, the command works fine with the 10.11 installer that I have.
