"This app will be incompatible with future versions of macOS" message while using MDS 4.0 (40106)

Issue #656 new
Federico Hernandez Nater created an issue

I got a "This app will be incompatible with future versions of macOS" message when I was using MDM in the Monterey Beta. Though I’m unable to reproduce the message, the prompt linked to this website.

Is this a known issue, or something that needs to be addressed in the next release of MDS?

    Update on this issue:

After installing build 50004, this issue happened again with the most current Monterey Beta, the 12.1 Beta (Build 21C5021h).

I wasn’t able to replicate it as I believe encountering this message requires a clean install of the helper tool needed for the download macOS tab. However, I do have a screenshot of what it appeared like the first time and can provide steps to attempt to replicate it on a new machine:

This was the same message as before, also linking to the “Sunsetting Python 2” page on the python.org website.

While I’m unable to replicate, here’s how I arrived at this message:

    1. Installed the new version of MDS (50004) with the installer
    2. Opened MDS
    3. Clicked on the “download macOS” tab in the menu
    4. Authorized the installation of the helper tool.

Following the authorization of the helper tool installation, the above message appeared. Attempting to do this a second time (after using the dmg’s uninstaller and installing again) could not replicate the issue, but attached to the main issue is a video going through these steps in an attempt to replicate.
