I also have this issue, however mine is an intel mac 12.3

Try downloading the latest 4.3 build. Since February 25th, the bundled installinstallmacos.py script in MDS 4.2 (48057) and later has been replaced with mist for macOS installer downloading.

With the release of macOS Monterey 12.3 Apple removed Python 2, which installinstallmacos depends on. Mist is written in Swift, so isn’t affected by that change. (https://github.com/ninxsoft/Mist).
