Unable to reset password

Our accounts are blocked for 15 minutes by 3 unsuccessful logins.

This tool won't save the password unless successfully logged in.

I am getting the feeling turning on the app (I turned it off using a plugin to prevent it from locking my account), does the 3 login attempts (with old password) Thus by the time I enter new password my account is locked and unable to save the new password.

Sort of uninstalling and reinstalling I seem to be stuck.

Enhancement: Allow password to be saved, even if it isn't successful. Still notify of failure though.
