Not in Google Play store on Nvidia Shield Android TV
I purchased "IPTV STB Emulator Pro” from my Minix Neo X8-H Plus in the Google Play store.
My Nvidia Shield Android TV just arrived. It is an Android TV box. When searching in the Google Play store on my Nvidia Shield Android TV it is not showing either “IPTV STB Emulator Pro”, or the free version "IPTV Set-Top-Box Emulator.” Any ideas?

reporter Hi Maxim,
Thank you for the quick response.
It is the Shield Console, NVidia SHIELD Android TV (foster).
When I look at my apps in the Google Play store on my computer play.google.com/apps and select "IPTV STB Emulator Pro” it can see that it says my NVidia SHIELD Android TV is compatible. But from the Google Play store on my NVidia SHIELD Android TV when I search it does not find "IPTV STB Emulator Pro” which I purchased or "IPTV Set-Top-Box Emulator.”
For "IPTV Set-Top-Box Emulator”, there is a comment that was left in the Play Store on July 8th 2015 by Roman Arauz. He says: "I want to use this app on my nvidia shield but I can't fine your app on the playstore. Put the pro version on it. I want to support your great job.”
So I may not be the only one having difficulty.
On Amazon the NVidia SHIELD Android TV (16GB) is currently the
#1Best Seller#1Best Seller in HD DVD Players. I am sure they are selling tons of them. I know all your fans that are buying NVidia SHIELD Android TV’s would love to be able to use your emulator on the NVidia SHIELD Android TV.Thanks, Dr. Sean

repo owner Could you try to install it remotely from Google Play on your PC?
-
reporter It installed but it not positioning on the screen correctly. Most of the screen is black and the emulator portion is in the lower left and partly cropped due to being off screen.
-
repo owner Can you make a photo or a screenshot? I have some ideas why it could happen.

You need to go into Portal->Settings->video and set display output to 1080p60 and it will work fine
Im experiencing another issue tho - i cant access the Menu->Settings->Profile
There is no menu on android tv :(
I'll open another ticket for it
-
reporter Settings->video and set display output to 1080p60 did indeed fix the positioning on the screen. Thank you potato potato :)
-
DocSean may i ask how did you invoke the Menu->profliles on the shield ?
-
reporter I installed the MAG emulator remotely from my computer. The Emulator screen was partially off the screen. To an unusable degree. I am not sitting at it right now but if I remember correct. I clicked something that took me to the Home Screen of the Emulator. From there there are boxes below which I could not see. I clicked to the left and selected each until I found the one that was Settings.
Settings>Video and change the "Video output mode:” to 1080p-60. So it is working now.
Not sure if that answered your question if not let me know.

DocSean i dont mean Portal->Settings->Video , i mean the Android menu on top right :) Where you setup your PORTAL URLs & etc There is no way to setup my portal on my shield...
-
reporter I haven't gotten that far myself. I found this though. Let me know if it helps.
-
DocSean i managed to setup the profile - a mice was needed :) LOL
Anyways i found another bug
When you are using the VLC player :
-
When you restart the app everytime you need to go into Portal->Settings->Video in order to fix the screen size , else you get the small window
-
Channels encoded in MBAFF ( 1080i + 1080p mixed ) dont play at all :/
-
-
reporter Interesting. Glad you got it working. If you figure out anything more let me know. Same on my end.
-
DocSean is the internal player working for you at all ?
-
reporter The emulator is functioning with channels that are preloaded. I have not connected it with any service yet though.

Does keyboard work for login/password on internal links on shield?

I've just checked in Google Play console, and I see that both emulators are compatible with Nvidia Shield, at least with NVidia SHIELD Android TV (foster), NVidia SHIELD Tablet (shieldtablet) and NVidia Shield (roth). What's the codename of your device?
