Full Screen Playback on Amazon Fire TV

I'm currently using the built-in player because I want the option to have preview. Problem is on some channels, such as CNN US, when center "OK/Enter" button is pressed, full screen playback does not occur. Instead, screen goes a blank blue. A second press on the AFTV's center "OK/Enter" button returns the preview screen.

If right direction is selected and the guide shown, then the left direction is selected, full screen playback will occur.

Also, in "Localization" when America/Panama is selected, there is no option to change City Name. Any attempt reverts to America/Chicago "Abbeville"

Lastly, I see no option to change weather unit of measurement to "Farenheit" instead of "Centigrade."
