I'm not an author (on "preview" page) of library which I added to VersionEye

Issue #163 resolved
Former user created an issue

I added some projects (hosted by GitHub) to VersionEye, e.g.:

  • EasyBundle
  • LessCSS Compiler
  • Extended LessCSS Compiler
  • ...

When I open library VersionEye page (e.g. https://www.versioneye.com/java/biz.gabrys.lesscss:compiler/1.2), then I see that the author is adam_gabryś (probably read form pom.xml; this user does not exist). I cannot (and also don't want) change my login from agabrys to adam_gabryś. Is there any way to map authors with VersionEye accounts? Sometimes it generates funny results (e.g. https://www.versioneye.com/nodejs/raml-tester/0.8.6) - the same person with two accounts.

If there is any way to do that, then I think it will be a nice idea to add this information to FAQ.

Hey @agabrys. I just made you a maintainer of https://www.versioneye.com/java/biz.gabrys.lesscss:compiler. Now you can edit that page. We don't use the usernames to match authors and users in VersionEye because that is not save enough. Instead of the username we use the email addresses because that is not that easy to steal as a username. Unfortunately we don't have all emails from all authors.

On this page here https://www.versioneye.com/nodejs/raml-tester/0.8.6 the same guy shows up twice because he was found with 2 different usernames in the package.json but with the same email address. The profile images are fetched via Gravatar.
