"Promote Deployment" Task Reporting False Success

We are utilizing the "Promote Deployment" task within a build and are attempting to use it to promote a deployment artifact from one environment (Dev) to another (QA). The issue we are seeing is that the build reports a successful run but the deployment never occurs. When viewing the logs, we see that the plugin properly identified that a deployment should occur (Starting deployment for environment...) but we do not see any activity on the Deployment Plan side of things and the version is not updated. We are running the latest version of the plugin (3.6.5) but an older version of Bamboo (6.6.2). I've attached the build log output from a run that shows the plugin appearing to initiate the deployment promotion action. Let me know what other information I can provide to assist with this investigation of the issue.
