I tested it on Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Fedora 35, Fedora 37, Linux Mint 21 Xfce. I tried to move a file and a non-empty folder to trash and then successfully restored it on all these distributions.

Could you kindly specify on what Linux distribution you experienced the problems or could you describe more the scenario in which the restore of deleted files malfunctioned?

I have just tested this on my VM with Linux Mint 21 Xfce and Thunar file manager. I tried to delete a few files and folders and I was able to restore them from Thunar without any problems.

Could you kindly help me find out more about the problem that you are facing?

    • Can you see the deleted file in the Trash? Or do they not show up in the Trash at all?
    • What HiFile version do you have?
    • What Linux distribution and version do you have?
    • Is there anything special about the files and folders you deleted? Any special user right? Size? Aren’t they links?
    • Does it happen every time? Or just for some files or folders?

Thank you very much for you help.
