Can't create new tab on version 0.9.9.3

Issue #50 closed
G B created an issue

On the latest version (0.9.9.3) there seems to be a new bug that prevents from creating tabs. The shortcut I set previously doesn’t work, so I changed it since in the changelog there’s a mention that the saving of preferences has changed and may need to be adjusted manually. So I changed the shortcut to another key combination and this doesn’t work still.

Also, I’m not sure if it was there before, but in case… I’m not seeing any menubar item to create a new tab, maybe adding an item there could be great

I am sorry to hear you have problems. But I am a bit confused. Are you referring to tabs or to bookmarks?

Bookmarks are what you can create with Ctrl+B (or Cmd+B on macOS). You can give it a name and you can also assign a shortcut. The bookmarks are displayed typically at the bottom of the main window.

While tabs are an experimental feature which you must first allow in Preferences->Advanced->Tabs mode (experimental) and then select e.g. “Restore tabs at startup”. Then the tabs are shown in the top right corner of the main window. They are however in experimental stage because I find the current implementation a bit confusing for users.

Could you confirm whether you have problems with bookmarks or tabs?

Dear Vladimir, yes, you’re right! I was talking about the tabs and I didn’t remember I switched an option in the preferences to add the feature. So, I went back and saw the “Tabs mode (experimental)” and set it back to “Restore tabs at startup”. So yes, I guess it was because of the rework of saving the values in the preferences that didn’t keep my preference when I switched to version 0.9.9.3
