Selecting borrow 10 XDG gives no funds

When actually selecting the right option for that initial bank option box, "borrow 10 XDG", it gave a message as if it worked properly, but the funds dialogue in the bottom corner did not adjust to 10, remaining at 0, and it was still not possible to purchase options in meatspace.

Could you check what version you're running? That sounds like an older development version, the funds display should now be at the top left. The version displays on the main screen and in the page title, the latest one should be 8.6.8317.45378.
