unable to access menu / input high score names

Any attempt to do anything with the menu crashes the game also any name in the high score name will as well.

Running Windows 10 64-bit

Do anything at all with the menu? As in every single menu option causes a crash?

I cant even open the menu sadly; pressing ecsape crashes the game. Same as on the high scores, if I press anything other then enter (which puts in a default name) it crashes the game as well.
