Crash to desktop when player dies

Just as the player ship begins to explode, the app crashes to desktop. On the plus side, this does add an extra level of thrill to the game. ;)

Downgrading to major; please reserve critical for bugs that totally prevent the game from being played.
Can you give us any info at all on how to go about reproducing this? Does it happen on every single death, or only in some situations? If so, what situation - are there enemies in the sphere, are there player-fired projectiles in flight at the time?
