    Now that breed is displayed in the Lineage graphs, I don't think this is really necessary. Organizations like the APA will generally classify an individual bird as one breed or another until a new breed is established. Once that new breed is established, it could then be named and added to the breed list.

    As to the issue of parents that don't exist in the flock, it's easy enough to create a record for them and just uncheck the "Current Flock Member" box.
