Kenwood TS-2000 Support

Issue #122 new
Former user created an issue
  1. Connect the radio to the Mac via serial to USB adapter.
  2. Set the radio to PACKET12 mode, with the external data band set to B-Band. Set the B band frequency to 144.800.
  3. In QTH create a new KISS Serial TNC connection.
  4. Set the port to whatever the serial adapter, the device to Generic, and the Baud to 9600.
  5. Save the new connection and turn it on with TX off.
  6. Notice that nothing is received.

QTH currently only supports the KISS TNC protocol. Are you able to switch the radio into KISS mode manually?

You may be able to try the Kenwood D710 device type. This sends a “KISS ON” command, followed by a “RESTART” command. Based on what I am seeing in the TS-2000 manual, this seems like a sequence that might work,

Otherwise, if you or someone else can capture a stream of the incoming TNC2-format data, I can use that to develop support for that protocol in QTH
