Preferences >Beacon: unknown format for manual location

Relates to https://bitbucket.org/wbustraan/qth/issues/65/aprs-is-connection-filter-miles-field-not as I wanted to set my position data even though I cannot (probably) broadcast it.

Open Preferences
Select ‘Beacon’
change the ‘Source’ value from ‘Location Services’ to ‘manual’

I have tried to enter my coordinates in multiple geographic formats (grid, DMS, numeric). Whenever I try to enter the data, the dialogue tells me that I use can incorrect format - but it does not tell me the expected format. The program help section does also not provide any assistance. As a minimum requirement, update the program help and provide feedback to the user on the supported formats for this field.
