No apparent connection

Issue #9 closed

I've installed edproxy on my Windows 10 PC connected to my home network on which runs Elite with all the correct paths set. I've installed Pathfinder on my Android device connected to my home network. I've registered with EDSystemMap and entered the API key and CMDR name into edproxy.

There seems to be no apparent connections being made, Pathfinder reports "No systems to show" and on the edproxy screen under EDSM Plugin it reports "Waiting for data..".

Can you please advise me?

    Is the little circle in the upper right corner of the application grey or dark yellow/orange? Did you configure Edproxy to point to your Logs properly?

    Within Edproxy the EDSM plugin will send all data to the EDSM server until it runs out of past data. Then it will wait for new information. Each individual system entered will probably transfer so fast that you don't really see a different.

    For Pathfinder, can you check your settings and make sure you have entered a commander name, that the display days is 365. If the circle in the upper right corner of the app is grey then it means that your device is not communicating with Edproxy. If this is the case then the auto discovery service is unable to find Edproxy. We have found this occurs when the PC running Edproxy has a firewall turned on, or it is running a VPN. To get around this you can discover the IP address of the PC running Edproxy and through Pathfinder settings enter the explicit IP address. If you do this I would advise turning off the Disocvery Service within Edproxy. (same settings screen as you set the IP address)

    Hello Weston, Thank you for your reply.

    Settings:=

    edproxy:- Netlog Path and AppConfig Path are both set correctly,

    Pathfinder:- CMDR name is entered, Display Days is set to 365, Explicit IPv4 address is set, Discovery Service is turned off.

    Result:=

    edproxy:- A connected IP address is showing along with a Port address, EDSM plugin is showing "Waiting for data.."

    Pathfinder:- The circle is Orange. The System List shows either blank or the "No systems to show" message. The Statistics pages show all zeros.

    EDSM:- My web page is only showing the two netLogs that I have manually imported.

    Regards, Steve

    It's working!!

    It was all my fault, I was thinking that It would transmit log info created previously and so had not started the game. Now I have started Elite, System info is being transmitted to Pathfinder and to EDSM. It's looking good.

    Thank you for your help.
